Chief Information Officer - Joe Wright

As DMS' Chief Information Officer (CIO), Joe Wright heads central IT operations and system development, provides oversight on all agency IT-related matters, and also serves as Information Security Manager and COOP (Continuity of Operations Planning) Coordinator for the Department of Management Services. Prior to his current role, Wright was the Bureau Chief over Distributed Platform Services at the Shared Resource Center, then a branch of DMS, from 2005 until 2008. Wright began his IT career in Tampa, Fla., serving in leadership for a leading healthcare administration company from 1987 until 2000, then moved to Tallahassee where he spent more than three years with IT consulting firms prior to joining the state. He has 25 years of experience in the Information Technology field, and has been with the State of Florida for the past seven years. Wright holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tampa in Computer Science. |
