Municipal Police and Fire Plans

Welcome to the website for the Municipal Police Officers and Firefighters' Retirement Trust Funds Office (MPF), a section of the Bureau of Local Retirement Systems. The Municipal Police Officers and Firefighters' Retirement Trust Funds Office provides oversight and monitoring of Florida’s municipal and special district pension plans established for the benefit of police officers and firefighters under Chapters 175 and 185, Florida Statutes. This section also sponsors an annual trustees’ school in Tallahassee to provide education and updates to the pension trustees of plans operating under these chapters. The information provided on these pages will be of use to plan participants, board members, service providers, interested cities or concerned citizens.

The Annual Reports page provides the 2011 Annual Reports which are available to download. Chapter Plan Annual Reports are due to be completed and submitted to our office by February 1, 2012. Local Law Plan Annual Reports are due to be completed and submitted to our office by March 15, 2012.

Announcement

2010 Premium Tax Distribution Amounts initial distribution is scheduled for August 22, 2011, for all plans that have been approved. Sections 175.131 and 185.11, Florida Statutes, require that the state premium tax moneys must be deposited immediately, and under no circumstances more than five days after receipt into the Municipal Police Officers and Firefighters' Trust Funds.
