David Clark

David Clark serves as Chief of Staff for the Department of Management Services. He is the principal advisor to the Secretary on matters of administration, policy, budget, human resources, and technical operations. David oversees and coordinates a team of Senior Directors to ensure the development and implementation of initiatives designed to achieve the DMS mission.

Before coming to DMS, he served as Deputy Secretary for Land and Recreation at the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). As Deputy Secretary, he led the Florida State Park System, the Division of State Lands and the Office of Operations. David began his career in public service in 2004 at DEP, working in the Division of State Lands and then the Office of Cabinet Affairs until 2010. After four years in the U.S. Army as an officer with the 82nd Airborne Division, David returned to DEP in 2014, serving as both Director of Cabinet Affairs and Deputy Director of State Lands. In 2016, he was appointed by Governor Rick Scott and Cabinet to the post of Director of State Lands before becoming Deputy Secretary in 2017.
