Inspector General Dawn Case

Dawn Case serves as the Inspector General for DMS, where she oversees the Office of the Inspector General and conducts performance, managerial, operational, financial and legal/statutory compliance audits in all program areas of the agency. Dawn also makes recommendations from audits to improve management’s duties and objectives and to better the agency as a whole.  

In her previous position at the Office of the Chief Inspector General, Dawn, as the Deputy Chief Inspector General, managed and supervised the daily activities of the intake and investigations unit. She also oversaw and managed state agency investigations conducted in accordance with the Whistleblower’s Act. Prior to this role, she served as Inspector General at the Department of Children and Families (DCF), where she promoted accountability, integrity and efficiency through conducting, supervising and coordinating investigations, internal audits, management reviews and management advisories. Dawn has also maintained the roles of Chief of Investigations and Regional Inspector Supervisor at DCF and that of Director of Investigations at the Office of the Chief Inspector General.

Dawn earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in criminology from Florida State University. She is a certified inspector general and a commission member on the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation. Furthermore, she currently serves as the vice president of the Florida Chapter of the Association of Inspectors General.
