Telecommunications Infrastructure Project Services (TIPS)

TIPS provides customers with a point of contact for services ranging from total project management, procurement of infrastructure cabling, design, and telecommunications infrastructure systems. Whether it is new construction or renovation, TIPS utilizes the master contract to manage all cabling infrastructure projects. This eliminates the need for a customer to formally procure each project reducing the cost and time of implementation. TIPS complies with Florida Statutes, the National Electric Code, TIA standards and BICSI requirements.

  • Design of structured cabling systems
  • Installation of low voltage cabling for telephones, computers, audio and visual technologies
  • Installation of low voltage cabling equipment: racks, cabinets, conduit, and wire management
  • Repairs to cabling systems and telecommunication infrastructure equipment
  • Moving of information technology systems for occupants

  • Pre-approved qualified TIPS vendors
  • Shorter procurement schedule and costs
  • Extended system warranties
  • Contracted pricing cap on standard telecommunication infrastructure items

The TIPS contract is a multi-vendor contract to provide a competitive vehicle for SUNCOM customers to achieve the greatest cost savings. We encourage all customers to obtain multiple quotes from contracted vendors to ensure the biggest savings. It is up to each customer to follow their own agency or institutional rules to assure compliance with all purchasing regulations and laws.
