2021 Information Releases
- Information Release 2021-220 () - June 18, 2021, Expiration of Executive Order 20-88; Re-employment of Essential Personnel (distributed to all FRS Agency Heads, Retirement Coordinators, and Agency Contacts). This information release explains the steps that must be taken by retirees impacted by the expiration of Executive Order 20-88 and also provides guidance to FRS employers who had retirees employed by them or who provided essential services through a third-party arrangement during the COVID-19 state of emergency.
- Information Release 2021-219 () - June 3, 2021, Retirement Contribution Rates for 2021-2022 (distributed to all FRS Agency Heads and Retirement Coordinators). This information release publishes contribution rates effective July 1, 2021, for active and renewed members of the FRS by plan and class code, including rates for the unfunded actuarial liability (UAL), the Retiree Health Insurance Subsidy (HIS), and the assessment for FRS administrative/educational costs. Rates are also provided for the Deferred Retirement Option Program (DROP) and optional programs. This release includes a schedule of dates that contributions and payroll reports are due in Fiscal Year 2021-22.
2020 Information Releases
- Information Release 2020-218 () - Nov. 19, 2020, Retiree Health Insurance Subsidy Benefit Tax Exclusion (distributed to all FRS Agency Heads and Retirement Coordinators). This information release provides information related to the HIS tax exclusion requirements.
- Information Release 2020-217 () - Sept. 2, 2020, 2020 Legislation (distributed to all FRS Agency Heads and Retirement Coordinators). This information release describes major enactments of various bills passed by the Florida Legislature during the 2020 Regular Session that could affect members of the FRS and other state-administered or locally administered retirement systems.
- Information Release 2020-216 () - June 29, 2020, Retirement Contribution Rates for 2020-2021 (distributed to all FRS Agency Heads and Retirement Coordinators). - Information Release 2020-215 () - June 29, 2020, Re-Assessment of Designated Senior Management Service Class Positions (distributed to all FRS Agency Heads and Retirement Coordinators). This information release describes a six-month window from July 1, 2020, through Dec. 31, 2020, during which time local agencies can remove currently designated Senior Management Service Class (SMSC) positions from the class.
- Information Release 2020-214 () - April 11, 2020, Executive Order 20-88 Re-employment of Essential Personnel (distributed to all FRS Agency Heads, Retirement Coordinators and Agency Contacts). This information release provides information related to the reemployment of recent retirees to provide essential work or essential services during this state of emergency without impacting their retirement benefits.
