FRS Bulletin : Once a year, the Division of Retirement distributes this newsletter to active members of the FRS Pension Plan to keep members informed of retirement legislation, benefit provisions and other retirement-related news of interest. Current issues are listed below:

The  Fall 2017 (Adobe PDF Document) issue contains an article concerning 2017 Retirement Legislation. This issue also includes articles concerning Member Annual Statement changes, FRS Retirement Webcasts, the basics of DROP, information on FRS Online and how to update your beneficiary information online. There are also articles covering your membership options, information about volunteering, benefit forfeiture, termination, reemployment and renewed membership, and more. Finally, the newsletter provides division contact information.

The  Summer 2016 (Adobe PDF Document) issue contains an article on the Division of Retirement's new Director. The issue also includes articles concerning 2016 Retirement Legislation, Member Annual Statement changes, the basics of DROP, information on FRS Online and how to update your beneficiary information online. There are also articles covering your membership options, information about volunteering, benefit forfeiture, cost-of-living increases, and more. Finally, the newsletter provides division contact information.

FRS Retiree Newsletter : This newsletter is distributed to retirees and other beneficiaries of the FRS Pension Plan once or twice a year to keep them informed of retirement legislation, benefit provisions and other retirement-related news of interest. Current issues are listed below:

The  July 2017 (Adobe PDF Document) issue contains articles about the cost-of-living adjustment, direct deposit, and FRS Online. The remaining 2017 benefit payment schedule is included along with articles discussing survivor benefits and how to make sure you are receiving all of your eligible benefits. Other brief articles discuss being prepared and appointing someone to assist you with your affairs, how to adjust your federal tax withholding, and how to contact the division.

The  December 2016 (Adobe PDF Document) issue contains the 2017 benefit payment schedule and information about the various tools available on FRS Online. Related information is provided regarding the IRS Form 1099-R, tax help, and enrolling in direct deposit. There is an article with information for retirees on how to proactively protect your privacy and an article about how to set up for someone to assist you with your affairs if something unexpected should happen. Other brief articles provide information on adjusting your tax withholding, reemployment for retired members and how to contact the division.
